I was really nervous about it, but I'm having a great time with the students. Sydney is going to an in home daycare while I'm at school everyday and she's running through the typical sicknesses. She had a pretty bad cold after being there for a week, followed by pink eye last week and we just had her 18-month check-up Wednesday and found out that she has an ear infection. On the upside we killed 2 birds with one stone finding the infection during a routine well visit and caught it before it got really bad. So, right now she's on antibiotics - caramel apple flavored. When did they come out with that? I'd like to pour some on vanilla ice cream it smells so good.<br />Sydney is in the 75th percentile for weight and between the 75th & 90th for height. She has really thinned out ever since she began walking and now running and climbing and dancing... she's forever on the move. She babbles a TON and there are a few recognizable words. She's a girly girl carrying around her baby doll with her purse on her shoulder and sometimes putting my shoes on.</p><p><br /> </p></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-66396040299223712562010-01-06T16:14:00.000-08:002010-01-06T16:50:59.230-08:00Christmas at Home<div align="center">Yes, I've been slacking big time and my excuse is that it's been the holidays and we were in Key West for Christmas and New Years. A whole 2 weeks in FL and it was awesome! Coming back to lots and lots of snow was not so cool... but hey, it's what we get for living here. </div><div align="center">Sydney has gone to her soon-to-be daycare a few times to get her acquainted and comfortable there. She is the youngest, so I feel like each time I pick her up she's grown up so much just from being around the older kids. It's hard to believe she's almost 1 1/2! She's saying lots of words and seems to understand what we say to her. She's beginning to learn animal sounds and still LOVES Dora the Explorer :) She will sing row, row, row from Row, row, row your boat. She'll say boat too. She remains being a good eater, however, she has some strange favorites. She really likes dill pickles and even ate an olive the other day... both of which I hate. Cucumbers, carrots, peas, corn & green beans are still at the top of the list. She'll pretty much eat all fruit too. She can't get enough raisins & craisins. She's not a big meat eater. She loves soup, but will spit out the chicken pieces or seal her lips if she sees chicken on the spoon before it gets to her mouth. You take the chicken off and she opens up. Too funny. Yogurt, toast, crackers, cheese... all part of her diet too. Unlike me, she is not a big dessert fan. Still doesn't like chocolate much. Her downfall is plain munchkins from Dunkin' Donuts. </div><div align="center">We got together with my side of the family a few weeks before Christmas to celebrate and exchange gifts. Sydney had fun playing with her cousins. She got lots of fun toys and adorable clothes from everyone for Christmas. While she's still young I figure we can get away with being gone for Christmas Day... but I'm not sure what will happen when she gets older. We'll see...</div><br /><div align="center"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423786093503183250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-JPNPHqBuWp8exwGwz0tzAThGEDdMmneLLWi4gQ9gQxHTfL61AIS6BWiGBjpipAQZ77K44NEXggF3jtGireyJq_8hPGEIMlqJZXsMPQmrU7uTZNlgh-J11Vv_zk_wKAb5zOoaG-eG/s320/IMG_2854.JPG" />Wearing her new snow boots & winter jacket. She did very well. She had 3 shots - flu, H1N1 flu, and HIB (Haemophilus Influenzae type B). Once again she was told she was "amazing" for not crying. She weighs 25.2 lbs putting her in the 80th percentile for weight and 32" tall putting her in the 90th percentile for height. We have to go back in 4 weeks to get her DTaP (diphtheria, tetamus & pertussis) and polio vaccines. They didn't want to give her too many shots at once since she had to get the flu shots.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir80NQ9BsDk7f9yk3VlVuyuyG-eoPFr233tpYouzXzBrgX2BMDMu9gQj9Kn5SlBuBHx83zEv3PErWieKB4PSqIZW1EINndO1zaiCC2lSgGZdgBWk2Tr-Ye6a952Jp_m1brmtDkawPt/s1600-h/IMG_2761.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411026248746177586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir80NQ9BsDk7f9yk3VlVuyuyG-eoPFr233tpYouzXzBrgX2BMDMu9gQj9Kn5SlBuBHx83zEv3PErWieKB4PSqIZW1EINndO1zaiCC2lSgGZdgBWk2Tr-Ye6a952Jp_m1brmtDkawPt/s320/IMG_2761.JPG" /></a> She's giving kisses to Dad through the glass door</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd7DSas8fLot8ecQqQJpr9dZnHnwpgj_CUfuBsbI36EpFbNPB5JW1sCpot9vl7wroO62QWxxaSILxjMzHKaPiWPHJmVb1AfcvZNiVaXPgeSH7Ea56_bY5vQhyphenhyphenRBr7uIqWz2cjYy2C9/s1600-h/IMG_2747.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411026242236391170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd7DSas8fLot8ecQqQJpr9dZnHnwpgj_CUfuBsbI36EpFbNPB5JW1sCpot9vl7wroO62QWxxaSILxjMzHKaPiWPHJmVb1AfcvZNiVaXPgeSH7Ea56_bY5vQhyphenhyphenRBr7uIqWz2cjYy2C9/s320/IMG_2747.JPG" /></a>Sydney & Zach (Cortney & Josh Giarrusso's son)<br />We went to a birthday party for Jaden Scott and all the kids got to play. I don't know where the time goes. Actually, maybe I do, my day consists of chasing, cleaning up, feeding, changing and repeatedly saying "no!" as Sydney climbs up on chairs and uses her arms like windshield wipers to clear whatever may be on the table. Today it was my cup of coffee (luckily no longer hot), a remote, magazines, salt & pepper shaker... I think you get the point :) Bringing her to the store with me is no longer easy. She insists on standing in the cart in order to get down and run. I have about 5-10 minutes until that happens, so most of my errands happen in the evening now, after Geoff gets home. I'm making her out to sound like a monster, but she's really a good baby... or toddler? She still sleeps all night. We put her down around 8pm and she wakes up around 7:30am. She's officially off the baby bottle. I was dreading it, but it really wasn't bad at all. She was having a bottle before her afternoon nap and before bed. I weaned her down to 2 oz. of whole milk and on the day she turned 15 months I ditched the bottle. I now give her a sippy cup of milk before she goes down and read her a few books. She's completely fine with it. It took 1 day. She naps from about 1-4pm. Yeh, I know... I'm lucky. It keeps me sane :)<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDVcLWuaO-6lWani0csG_CX6pV-9k13WlF2lO8ceKpnQq4W-MiCbBBXpAncOWshpNoYoYiPC2H0yXCNV7g9UBGfMdROsnquk0x5g3UzNOWV-fQnNCmxOgPxCm-whCj9iZD5CW0ts0e/s1600/IMG_2691.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404749225274229826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDVcLWuaO-6lWani0csG_CX6pV-9k13WlF2lO8ceKpnQq4W-MiCbBBXpAncOWshpNoYoYiPC2H0yXCNV7g9UBGfMdROsnquk0x5g3UzNOWV-fQnNCmxOgPxCm-whCj9iZD5CW0ts0e/s320/IMG_2691.JPG" /></a>Sydney got a Dora 'lil Quad for her birthday, but I didn't want to put it together until she was walking steadily. Can you imagine if she went from crawling to driving and completely skipped walking? Luckily we've had a mild fall so she's been able to use it outside quite a bit. She's not a fan of her helmet, but she doesn't have much choice. She doesn't ride long before she's off and running to the neighbors playground or into the road.</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio3jN2SQyYvGwl8H4NkUKbWc5r4buRliZABRCbfEGfNAaPQh75U8-kqWWcVDYEYpXk63d-f_Eub_bdH8vohj4eA51M6rwUqLV8r1gxcbLYPpoo6J3fBqJbRag-Em8NRwR_IN9Ew_wP/s1600/IMG_2677.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404749218449496322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio3jN2SQyYvGwl8H4NkUKbWc5r4buRliZABRCbfEGfNAaPQh75U8-kqWWcVDYEYpXk63d-f_Eub_bdH8vohj4eA51M6rwUqLV8r1gxcbLYPpoo6J3fBqJbRag-Em8NRwR_IN9Ew_wP/s320/IMG_2677.JPG" /></a>Sydney and I went to Critz Farms in Cazenovia and got to see a pumpkin patch along with some goats, ducks, donkeys, bunnies, horses, etc. She loves animals so she certainly enjoyed herself there.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDLN9hyphenhyphenbqeysE9LPQU029BgXHjD5QWHDHC_DqDo7oKlhN4wQJk7U12yLeG8V9zq7ZF61u2fY4raw8ys-yqHIMI6uG6dG3gv_ChGL1ImPb286_NS0MQUSHMUHLuGnFGBMjLwweGJ6QL/s1600/IMG_2668.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404749215348775682" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDLN9hyphenhyphenbqeysE9LPQU029BgXHjD5QWHDHC_DqDo7oKlhN4wQJk7U12yLeG8V9zq7ZF61u2fY4raw8ys-yqHIMI6uG6dG3gv_ChGL1ImPb286_NS0MQUSHMUHLuGnFGBMjLwweGJ6QL/s320/IMG_2668.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ6pSKxyycpg6Cr7kpl9AqSOAGfgzewYVQpA0sXy1EvTXD1OU9Q9JgH_J_dJAh46VzaY3xi2CJA1cXZTaDNDjmAkKRjJskIkHhaxi-McIKbk9CzxbH8qU9SUawHp3bALjltNJGgfDv/s1600/IMG_2688.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404748109870237010" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ6pSKxyycpg6Cr7kpl9AqSOAGfgzewYVQpA0sXy1EvTXD1OU9Q9JgH_J_dJAh46VzaY3xi2CJA1cXZTaDNDjmAkKRjJskIkHhaxi-McIKbk9CzxbH8qU9SUawHp3bALjltNJGgfDv/s320/IMG_2688.JPG" /></a> There was also a play area that she had fun on.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY7Wl_H0uAcFahsfC7fsStUv8LIk3PUrcJOh2M3ZYBIWoxD5jTk4n_OQ9ivhaP5hDM9Z-xNAF284d6tqyxMnG__57d5w-odxW2-vDpaPnqxgh4qjwSRAqNjNCXh2aK8Y67YTxhHXLr/s1600/IMG_2683.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404748106106788354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY7Wl_H0uAcFahsfC7fsStUv8LIk3PUrcJOh2M3ZYBIWoxD5jTk4n_OQ9ivhaP5hDM9Z-xNAF284d6tqyxMnG__57d5w-odxW2-vDpaPnqxgh4qjwSRAqNjNCXh2aK8Y67YTxhHXLr/s320/IMG_2683.JPG" /></a> Maybe she was more interested in the rocks & dirt than the pumpkins.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZqdj9YPY99681nQllx-xWHA0AgHQliHq20YgmaaPWblTs-lh9OdEyegRW7hyh0PD_AV8-h7KveIVeil2As1POzBQ-a3-jdaaColfCdxytBwpNhYruF9bkwEomVaMNfY5Q09hrXhZd/s1600/IMG_2715.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404748102610247602" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZqdj9YPY99681nQllx-xWHA0AgHQliHq20YgmaaPWblTs-lh9OdEyegRW7hyh0PD_AV8-h7KveIVeil2As1POzBQ-a3-jdaaColfCdxytBwpNhYruF9bkwEomVaMNfY5Q09hrXhZd/s320/IMG_2715.JPG" /></a> Sydney was an adorable kangaroo for Halloween.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX-YlhSPZWfrvPhIUGrrRtFVnH6vOZRp8E_FcORXpdx27rjyYOZC9Dq4_FlxyupgwxjvbszDiz-dJeQrozffhjjLqy1VEII2LUTcCgJhHViPAVV9QP89lvijoupzMHJpnX899t3TDo/s1600/IMG_2708.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5404748098681775138" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX-YlhSPZWfrvPhIUGrrRtFVnH6vOZRp8E_FcORXpdx27rjyYOZC9Dq4_FlxyupgwxjvbszDiz-dJeQrozffhjjLqy1VEII2LUTcCgJhHViPAVV9QP89lvijoupzMHJpnX899t3TDo/s320/IMG_2708.JPG" /></a>She loved the baby Joey that came with it. I think that winter is here, actually. Sydney and I miss our summer walks around the block with bare feet and spending our weekends at camp, but thats okay. She's already been tailgating for the SU football games and had fun running around the parking lot and pushing around her baby stroller.</div><div align="center">Sydney's new favorite thing is talking on the phone. For at least a month now she'll hold something... anything (it can be a green bean, her cup, toy frying pan, etc.) to her ear and say "o?" which is hello in her language. Within the last few weeks she has started talking on the real phone. She'll jabber away walking around the house not even letting the other person talk at all. Then she'll throw a hissy fit when the phone is taken away. It's pretty funny to watch. She'll even start laughing like the other person just told her something funny. Is she mocking me? Probably. We have a talker on our hands. She can talk for up to an hour before she eventually falls asleep for her nap. Kathy said she thinks she's telling jokes to her stuffed animals and then laughing at them. Its hysterical to hear.</div><div align="center">Geoff and I had our first non-family babysitter a few weeks ago. We put her to bed before we left, so it was pretty easy, but the sitter has been back since to watch Sydney while she's awake too. My nervousness is much better now that she's older. As we left Geoff said, "I feel so old... we have a babysitter at our house!" It just doesn't seem that long ago that I was babysitting!</div><div align="center">As for other news, my brother Adam and his wife, Tammy, are expecting in March and find out soon what they are having! Geoff's cousin, Bryce, and his wife, Mary, just found out that they are having another boy also. Congrats to them both!</div><div align="center">Yes, I have Sydney's Halloween costume - I'll post pictures when I have them.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOz89aXgpm9-houNz5ZKjKZFa0i8mitOvH7QCknefyoiqvTL00AGGW4mhcOEg9I1mqbpJzc9HtHgn6hl4bWoDoiEiYaYRgU_eOq7p-VRwp0jCx5ir3svBERI-hWpxHCXrq-Ln_kJYp/s1600-h/IMG_2634.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; We looked at some of her old baby photos the other day and had to laugh at how chubby she was. She's completely thinned out now that she's all over the place. I call her my little monkey. She's a very cautious child, but she has no fear when it comes to climbing things. She tries to put her feet into the sink of her kitchen set so she can stand in it, she climbs up slides, and I found her on top of our glass coffee table the other day on all fours.</div><div align="center">I can't leave anything out. If I leave the pantry door open she is immediately in it ripping things down. I left the garbage out from under the sink the other day. I heard a little evil giggle and it was way too quiet. I found her digging through the garbage AND she had something in her mouth. I scooped out what looked like carrot. I had just cut some and she found the ends, so it wasn't that bad, but honestly... she sees the refrigerator open for one second and b-lines it to climb inside and pull things out. She weighed 23 lbs, the same as her 9 month visit, which shocked the doctor. I explained that it's a good thing... she was pretty chunky and is now moving and burning calories. She was 31.2" long, which means she's grown almost 3" taller. So, she's dropped to the 85th percentile for weight and is just above the 95th percentile for height.</div><div align="center">She got 3 shots - varivax, hepititus A, and MMR. She didn't cry, again, for her first two shots (still a toughy!), but the MMR shot stings, so she cried after that one. Then the nurse came in to prick her finger for a lead test, which came back fine, but made her cry even harder. She couldn't stand the band-aid on her finger and managed to bite it off shortly after it was put on.</div><div align="center">About 3 days after her shots she had a fever of 102.2, which lasted a couple of days, and then she had a minor rash on her back, belly and a little on her neck. She also lost her appetite and just wasn't herself. The doctor said that she could have some reactions from the shots for up to 2 weeks. She seems to be better now.</div><div align="center">We went to Saratoga for our annual family visit with friends the weekend of August 8-9. We stayed with our friends Joe, Jess and Jack. We had a good time with them at the track and Sydney and Jack got to play together. Sydney was good considering she was sick with a fever and not eating well. Sydney also had her first non-family babysitter when we all went out to dinner. Sydney and Jack were already sleeping, so Joe's cousin, the babysitter, had it pretty easy :)</div><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisbrdDxtZoKjhbGgExR6vHr_wq0KCGjJkoDYtxlCjcYvOnlLQZSqko_Os-Xr-favRu8wBvGM_Y5snIO7Xxlqvd3D2jjYXAbaSYiLMuUftiwiNZpIpOYyrDLszjJ6Y8HSWJVe51N51q/s1600-h/IMG_2471.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371743191715081506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisbrdDxtZoKjhbGgExR6vHr_wq0KCGjJkoDYtxlCjcYvOnlLQZSqko_Os-Xr-favRu8wBvGM_Y5snIO7Xxlqvd3D2jjYXAbaSYiLMuUftiwiNZpIpOYyrDLszjJ6Y8HSWJVe51N51q/s320/IMG_2471.JPG" /></a> In this picture you can see the Dora the Explorer band-aid on her arm after the shots :(</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT_iSAAAT6HD6MXLvm7H1aQIxmGLjynRA8Y-HG3cf2xFR6HOfnttbli9-57J9Ru-wu6YsIoUhhnXrmTLxI1-_lGK3KPTPPZ6yelYEI0_oQghcRHhrojH_5P_sg2ZsDN8sbfHQbteGx/s1600-h/IMG_2468.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371743181822534850" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT_iSAAAT6HD6MXLvm7H1aQIxmGLjynRA8Y-HG3cf2xFR6HOfnttbli9-57J9Ru-wu6YsIoUhhnXrmTLxI1-_lGK3KPTPPZ6yelYEI0_oQghcRHhrojH_5P_sg2ZsDN8sbfHQbteGx/s320/IMG_2468.JPG" /></a>Grandma & Grandpa got Sydney a chair for her birthday and she loves sitting and lounging in it.<br /><br /><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigxhk5FXVZkD5uFLEl7cMOlLlSEO9Vw4KTohU2Q2g6fNDer2xg_SPRpLoWj9V9SnfMfE4ibAfXorR2xs3RoVcw5Rhct4YuqcjVF7fWT5mANx5Ilg3zPDnFKgl7AwmkmBUJzjWSRzYx/s1600-h/IMG_2487.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371742688714516674" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigxhk5FXVZkD5uFLEl7cMOlLlSEO9Vw4KTohU2Q2g6fNDer2xg_SPRpLoWj9V9SnfMfE4ibAfXorR2xs3RoVcw5Rhct4YuqcjVF7fWT5mANx5Ilg3zPDnFKgl7AwmkmBUJzjWSRzYx/s320/IMG_2487.JPG" /></a>Sydney loves all of her new birthday toys. I wouldn't trade one day of it though. She's the best thing that has happened to Geoff and me.</div><div align="center">We had a birthday party for Sydney up at camp and the weather couldn't have been any better. We managed to squeeze a beautiful day in between two rainy ones. Sydney's a lucky girl to have so many 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins her age. She'll be able to grow up with them and have life-long friends. Here are some pictures from her party:</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtWgpfDCWmFB55mzK43m1NYMF9GCeiWAocjOJfvrdAeD7Vkrzgh74tyyv_IqjK5UoodLsy7qfhZIrC72kMnd0Ga2NCEAHKUvcS3NaLfETWXL7ftRxMjPnUiwr1uoeDpYAjTmutw0zK/s1600-h/IMG_2397.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366191868380684098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtWgpfDCWmFB55mzK43m1NYMF9GCeiWAocjOJfvrdAeD7Vkrzgh74tyyv_IqjK5UoodLsy7qfhZIrC72kMnd0Ga2NCEAHKUvcS3NaLfETWXL7ftRxMjPnUiwr1uoeDpYAjTmutw0zK/s320/IMG_2397.JPG" border="0" /></a>Lily (2nd cousin) and Sydney</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg12Y2Ev0i0CccG9JpY-mbPcJ29cCL_PPR9EsFERdFpiKq-drSePaCRZmkVWtcSfYtAw9yH_I3T1koB3GbBSCMpeWFXlAdSuEGT2iTxuN_-BqW_goz-nPcl_Fm_PtqhsPdwD2kj9N5_/s1600-h/IMG_2398.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366191862109130658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg12Y2Ev0i0CccG9JpY-mbPcJ29cCL_PPR9EsFERdFpiKq-drSePaCRZmkVWtcSfYtAw9yH_I3T1koB3GbBSCMpeWFXlAdSuEGT2iTxuN_-BqW_goz-nPcl_Fm_PtqhsPdwD2kj9N5_/s320/IMG_2398.JPG" border="0" /></a> Eating lunch<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZYzJ38Pwj0CaLX8SSDhy9KvdKRE78uq2f8oGIZ7puchRElSimKJdzxxA5ICEsSVmJaJGndR7UCyfNNWku-um9Dc0XlKTFZWlVKXoy5qGPZ5xSqQfTz9IpWCmmAE_V1naUgx62QaaH/s1600-h/IMG_2406.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366191857138024882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZYzJ38Pwj0CaLX8SSDhy9KvdKRE78uq2f8oGIZ7puchRElSimKJdzxxA5ICEsSVmJaJGndR7UCyfNNWku-um9Dc0XlKTFZWlVKXoy5qGPZ5xSqQfTz9IpWCmmAE_V1naUgx62QaaH/s320/IMG_2406.JPG" border="0" /></a>Lily and Sydney swimming and wading in her baby pool<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHSJExEIiX48iBMfnKgIJXZYbKWA1EaQHnUvlKfM2PhBm8LDhoz0sFlZZ66FPfAyjKR9AOUWAwCBWro8QI51j5Xdg-Lk3yAqX2tHNuZAA-0UHFtIWfoPrJtJNcrAyX__9jwpXTpuPs/s1600-h/IMG_2410.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366191240996175058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHSJExEIiX48iBMfnKgIJXZYbKWA1EaQHnUvlKfM2PhBm8LDhoz0sFlZZ66FPfAyjKR9AOUWAwCBWro8QI51j5Xdg-Lk3yAqX2tHNuZAA-0UHFtIWfoPrJtJNcrAyX__9jwpXTpuPs/s320/IMG_2410.JPG" border="0" /></a>Grady (2nd cousin) and Sydney<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkEiDHvV0lETrPtwAVKKS_b_xOE1yvv7p4tkiGO12Gc907ogU6YDOO-D0nPdCodg8zQ3l69WZCgU0SMwHLnxZp26CI2fB4ZQBTagcz25lmbR0c5QC9T8jA7H4_ad_j7VJnnHfJAzla/s1600-h/IMG_2417.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366191233812604002" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkEiDHvV0lETrPtwAVKKS_b_xOE1yvv7p4tkiGO12Gc907ogU6YDOO-D0nPdCodg8zQ3l69WZCgU0SMwHLnxZp26CI2fB4ZQBTagcz25lmbR0c5QC9T8jA7H4_ad_j7VJnnHfJAzla/s320/IMG_2417.JPG" border="0" /></a>Her enormous birthday cake and believe it or not, there wasn't much left-over. She can say mama, dada, bye-bye, tata (Tyra), dat dat (pat, pat - petting the dog), bat bat (backpack), and a few others that are escaping me. She's still shaking her head yes and no also. Her bedtime is creeping to closer to 8:00pm and she wakes up anywhere between 6:30am and 8:00am. I can see 8 teeth now and a few more white spots where more teeth are coming. She's still putting everything in her mouth... and I mean everything! On the up side of that, she eats just about anything I put in front of her. She's pretty much eating food that we eat now. I switched to whole milk last week and she didn't mind at all. She sucked down her bottle and took a 2 hour nap.</div><div align="center">Sydney climbs. She's figured out that if she's in the grocery cart, hangs onto the bar in front of her and lifts her leg, she can stand... IN the cart. I turned around in line to find her like this. Pretty scary. The straps on the cart cover don't hold her in either. She now tries to climb out of her stroller too. There was a toy drum in her pack n play she used as a step stool to get out and figured out that if she stands on cans from the pantry she can reach the second shelf to rip things down. Four more days and she'll be 1... how can that be?</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinEi6DSGc5KRw5Wir1Ia1ckqemTWaI8h5DXQ5XsExLqyajugij7RGO_4HsR7Jhcscj8dDwkc8A4hPQBAe6xMnfeX8XvW1PTCv06iDhelIvGURscbWcRysPKMWBipwnKBEdLMwVwl-G/s1600-h/IMG_2377.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363514979308404562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinEi6DSGc5KRw5Wir1Ia1ckqemTWaI8h5DXQ5XsExLqyajugij7RGO_4HsR7Jhcscj8dDwkc8A4hPQBAe6xMnfeX8XvW1PTCv06iDhelIvGURscbWcRysPKMWBipwnKBEdLMwVwl-G/s320/IMG_2377.JPG" border="0" /></a> Riding her rocking horse... or lamb</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUD4i9kD8uWRO_-RPknvjzWLjHBzqaKpZr9glXRBjlaei1IY-3sYJr6LmswiHUabYWyyFfQr6dNzzrq9oAnuvjK3Qojq-QG6ftAyG-u-9gKpcOMbwWI96swza_y12ErzLdYSxkJByz/s1600-h/IMG_2368.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363514968508944626" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUD4i9kD8uWRO_-RPknvjzWLjHBzqaKpZr9glXRBjlaei1IY-3sYJr6LmswiHUabYWyyFfQr6dNzzrq9oAnuvjK3Qojq-QG6ftAyG-u-9gKpcOMbwWI96swza_y12ErzLdYSxkJByz/s320/IMG_2368.JPG" border="0" /></a>Pushing her baby stroller. She uses her stroller as a cart. She does it best when she's focused on something, like her favorite show - Dora the Explorer. She dances and claps whenever the theme song comes on. I caught her on video tonight. If I kneel in front of her with my hands out hoping she'll take a step, she drops to the floor and crawls to me. We're getting closer to walking anyway!</p><p align="center"><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyqzrABWsZ_8cp2TS6M-V-Y9jV9nTqPujSbcaw6InVbgABv-JGptmiMLGf0r7aCUf8WJn84vM9FLLOOyYO_HA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></p>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-26060225273772244442009-07-10T07:01:00.000-07:002009-07-10T07:16:16.197-07:00Summer Fun!<div align="center">Just about every weekend we've been staying up at camp. For those of you that don't know, camp is on Panther Lake, about 10 miles north of Oneida Lake. It's just under an hour from our house. Weather hasn't been great this summer, but we have gotten a few nice days. On those good days Sydney likes to wade in her baby pool. She plays with her toys in there and dips her face right in the water. Sometimes it's followed by a gasp of air, as if she's surprised by what happens when she dips her face in.</div><div align="center">Sydney's getting closer to walking, but still gets nervous about standing without holding onto something or someone. Instead of falling to land on her butt she's starting to lean forward to catch herself with her hands, which I think is another step closer to standing alone. </div><div align="center">I'll have a 4th of July update soon.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizlO9vVzYhXmXEPujdx2-rsVHrDYXuKC8LZSOgKogbSGpu_7kG_AP1_6ynlkl4MPLvy1_b1x0gNMAXcHi7MMNywUyVq1dMtKGfpLeg_34U6iIMdKIG_Dgr3riPHBtbPovB4qqUv8jt/s1600-h/IMG_2257.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356831985254633746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizlO9vVzYhXmXEPujdx2-rsVHrDYXuKC8LZSOgKogbSGpu_7kG_AP1_6ynlkl4MPLvy1_b1x0gNMAXcHi7MMNywUyVq1dMtKGfpLeg_34U6iIMdKIG_Dgr3riPHBtbPovB4qqUv8jt/s320/IMG_2257.JPG" border="0" /></a> Sydney making her goofy smile face</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDixHFW3TqTdxq1UVklDobPZmfNt3ayFn1tXRENUe3_FVIpNn33IuBcxXe7STf4TP7m7kNOGpNuGkwvzUow0mhQLXAd1Sm7ToYkr7FcL_BShoP6TN31zmNgm7sdJHcgPLTU8iTMkd/s1600-h/IMG_2254.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356831978387080834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDixHFW3TqTdxq1UVklDobPZmfNt3ayFn1tXRENUe3_FVIpNn33IuBcxXe7STf4TP7m7kNOGpNuGkwvzUow0mhQLXAd1Sm7ToYkr7FcL_BShoP6TN31zmNgm7sdJHcgPLTU8iTMkd/s320/IMG_2254.JPG" border="0" /></a>In her 'big girl' Adirondack chair at camp. We went to NYC in the beginning of June to go to the Belmont Stakes horse race and a Yankee game. Below are some pictures from our trip. </div><div align="center">Sydney is still cracking us up and doing something new everyday. This morning she climbed a flight of stairs on her own (with supervision), but is still being very cautious about walking. If I stand her up and let go of her, she immediately buckles her knees once she realizes no one is hanging on to her. I hope to get some done a few times a year since she is changing so quickly. She is making progress daily in the walking department. Sydney pushes around anything she can including her walker, her little rocking chair, her doll's baby stroller and sometimes even our kitchen chairs. Her favorite thing to play with is books. She can have a thousand toys surrounding her and she still crawls over to her box of books, tips it over, pulls several out and starts turning the pages. Sometimes she'll babble as she 'reads' the pages. She'll be 10 months next week. So hard to believe!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340155594619253346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhewlF7P5jDSQrFLQoAOUtONh1yatR7nee8ecZyVhOyP9WYx3XspYbWcO_G7Ha1vC7vPEK1SaCyUmn4_drfpCPkOxEU2KCqKTBbV6WWYxBO5wbA40j1-DFHmw7xrRjiD5Faq27de7PD/s320/sydney3.bmp" border="0" /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKc4G_Vj9i8KqKLJyH_Gij69mcU6XTsUFqJSlmBCJh7vTIzvKvte6jFl61jNIi_xRdwGRQ3OMSV2j_UrzwlhH9agv4Q0RpTXVBQ71rKvBhyphenhyphenVpNhTTXsAIHGcgn_mf0TVZDy0_QI9uA/s1600-h/sydney6.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340155600034874674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 212px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKc4G_Vj9i8KqKLJyH_Gij69mcU6XTsUFqJSlmBCJh7vTIzvKvte6jFl61jNIi_xRdwGRQ3OMSV2j_UrzwlhH9agv4Q0RpTXVBQ71rKvBhyphenhyphenVpNhTTXsAIHGcgn_mf0TVZDy0_QI9uA/s320/sydney6.bmp" border="0" /></a> Never fail, you hand her a stuffed toy and she squeals as she squeezes and hugs it. We figured out the hard way that maybe this wasn't the right flower to hand her. She bit the top and had a whole bunch of tiny petals in her mouth. I finger scooped them out as she clenched her jaw and bit my finger. It ended with a few gags from the petals I apparently didn't get and a screaming baby. I think she may have been a <em>little</em> hungry... what's new.<br /><div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340155589128354914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 213px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCnmWLia2nZzfbkgtRE0chcQ_PT_YtRdI1Z0QTDXXklLw229cEFr22zK-Cn7ulobUhyphenhyphenadWldmFNOFOYCc4fbQ84e5XdJsykIxIKHkpJV-RLevcEv7OjGbEDKZIto91N3F_CdJ9Hyco/s320/sydney2.bmp" border="0" /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrdLc4aozqdXGuiDYDZGl1P_m0Nm5inPm7LrAuTBEe5BGYeTZ6LpPC8GCX5Y8bBfwU8-HXJV8TpdGG6d_wcwWemSKSMU5SPwH6BTxz-B1JmHgq1Yk3uR5hDA4i7jpkCK5uD3z-Eepb/s1600-h/sydney1.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340155588172050658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 213px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrdLc4aozqdXGuiDYDZGl1P_m0Nm5inPm7LrAuTBEe5BGYeTZ6LpPC8GCX5Y8bBfwU8-HXJV8TpdGG6d_wcwWemSKSMU5SPwH6BTxz-B1JmHgq1Yk3uR5hDA4i7jpkCK5uD3z-Eepb/s320/sydney1.bmp" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-55290958487521824652009-05-05T13:13:00.000-07:002009-05-05T13:37:39.288-07:009 months old<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKRwuhwylbd8QP86i0TcH6hlX8LQ15Ea_-rg-MSMP4yp2n5jF6U34ApDfFY6DkIqJgemWE6AfeBoX8rsTRO3SG7tCLZpVmPDwncpDegcB5-c_8VU4MYomVt3Pu1aAj8q2s1__R5vOK/s1600-h/IMG_2050.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332438931624079858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKRwuhwylbd8QP86i0TcH6hlX8LQ15Ea_-rg-MSMP4yp2n5jF6U34ApDfFY6DkIqJgemWE6AfeBoX8rsTRO3SG7tCLZpVmPDwncpDegcB5-c_8VU4MYomVt3Pu1aAj8q2s1__R5vOK/s320/IMG_2050.JPG" border="0" /></a> very serious...</div><div align="center"><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgL2Rv5o0AWjGtO5atJRRDvrQDd1-4-N2n9yAb9uk2830r_p-X4bLAvuvcvhuG1J6TR82jVnMxzAJF-7JdV9nbD0vY2AjIuXK6zbQ-vqYhjSZHxDcirSqX2qc6p-DxkhiKGbU2R8Q9/s1600-h/IMG_2066.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332438924906778658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgL2Rv5o0AWjGtO5atJRRDvrQDd1-4-N2n9yAb9uk2830r_p-X4bLAvuvcvhuG1J6TR82jVnMxzAJF-7JdV9nbD0vY2AjIuXK6zbQ-vqYhjSZHxDcirSqX2qc6p-DxkhiKGbU2R8Q9/s320/IMG_2066.JPG" border="0" /></a> Sydney and her 2nd cousin, Jordan<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-F6z6W9KuviPXrmnxbjlHtBGW5QxKxjl7AvkpOGldHgyoitV27IYxewQZ9NE5Id06MP-jkpw7CHzTUc8qusTWoABqpkhIcYNlV4TUGMQzasqizSyTM8GyCTISb6hopEXyOyOIhvS/s1600-h/IMG_2062.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332438921093882386" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-F6z6W9KuviPXrmnxbjlHtBGW5QxKxjl7AvkpOGldHgyoitV27IYxewQZ9NE5Id06MP-jkpw7CHzTUc8qusTWoABqpkhIcYNlV4TUGMQzasqizSyTM8GyCTISb6hopEXyOyOIhvS/s320/IMG_2062.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Sydney had a successful 9 month visit at the pediatrician and didn't need to get any shots because she was all caught up on them. She'd been going backwards and one crawl forward before dropping down to her belly before. Aunt Kristin came over and she crawled right over to her. It was great and I was happy that I wasn't the only one that got to see it. She's been crawling for a week now and is already pulling herself up on things. Geoff saw her kneeling in her crib peeking over the edge this morning. We're in trouble! Get the baby gates ready! We have her 9 month pediatrician visit Wed., so we'll have an update again soon. She's already slimming down from crawling. I weighed her at home the other day and she was 22 lbs.<br /><div></div></div></div></div><br /></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-43647612692760592652009-04-13T12:03:00.001-07:002009-04-13T14:05:34.909-07:00Happy Easter!<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0crxeLelswD0NkYV31ggES9c11ym9O2oYSJ5UlPYjhgiBsUQ7ZOjTrNx4UGYkBKemprb_wwVzijpl1Qs1Cwsqq1FSHbWkwLfCx8p5UnLMRZSFywWkx-N6v8yvbHATMSK8m4WbAnZQ/s1600-h/IMG_1976.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324261622388695362" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0crxeLelswD0NkYV31ggES9c11ym9O2oYSJ5UlPYjhgiBsUQ7ZOjTrNx4UGYkBKemprb_wwVzijpl1Qs1Cwsqq1FSHbWkwLfCx8p5UnLMRZSFywWkx-N6v8yvbHATMSK8m4WbAnZQ/s320/IMG_1976.JPG" border="0" /></a> Sydney LOVED the Easter Bunny and squealed when she saw him. She's still coughing here and there, but that is all that remains. I ended up taking her to the pediatrician a second time, after a week had gone by with her cold, and they put her on antibiotics. When they looked in her throat with the little flashlight I could see that her top two teeth were coming in. They are just poked through the gums. That is part of the reason why her nose has been running so much, I'm sure. </div><br /><div>She's still using the army manuver as her main form of transportation. She's excellent at going backwards :) Last week she did progress to getting up on all fours and rocking. In addition to her normal babbling and squeals she is also saying bababa, but doesn't know what she's saying. She's not saying it to get a bottle or anything. She raises her arms to "so big," and squinches her nose and eyes with a smile at things she thinks are funny. She has also been shaking her head 'no' for a few weeks, but also doesn't seem to know what that means either since she responds with a no head shake for any question you ask. </div><br /><div>For Easter we went to Grandma and Grandpa Kent's house on Saturday and to Grandma and Grandpa Halstead's house on Sunday. Uncle Mike came home from Connecticut and Sydney had a great time playing with everyone. Uncle Adam, Aunt Tammy and Uncle Evan all came home from Buffalo and Aunt Megan, Uncle Matt, Connor and Seth all came home too. She had a fever of 102 with a cold, so I took her in. Turns out it is a cold and nothing more, so we just have to wait it out. The fever is now gone, but her nose is running like a faucet and she has that yucky congested cough. I hate seeing her like this and just wish I could be sick instead of her. I know... I better get used to it, because it may be her first sickness, but definitely isn't the last!</div><div>Sydney is moving around pretty good on the floor now - mostly an army crawl. She can stand while holding onto something too. I just measured her at home, so it isn't the official dr. measurments, but she was 29" long and weighed 25 lbs. According to the growth charts she's maintaining her high 90's percentile for both her length and weight. She's officially into her 12-18 month clothing.<br /></div><div> </div></div></div></div></div><br /></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-25581367120662531642009-03-20T08:41:00.000-07:002009-03-20T09:24:21.120-07:00Laughing...<p>Sydney and I got Tyra a new toy and squeaking it was just hysterical to her.</p><p><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwxzbslj7cPgT2J08-guV2uCZfETwTaJugmNQk5roOTcHyjb_QAQ1P7TnDuFNDz-gp_gT791HB73ZBS6mEw3Q' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></p><p> </p><p> </p>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-19637741205556177722009-03-16T07:56:00.000-07:002009-03-16T08:39:39.305-07:00Toes in the sand...<div align="center">Sydney, Geoff and I went to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers for a few days for a little birthday get-a-way. It was nice getting away from the cold. Sydney enjoyed the sand, ocean, pool, and warm weather that allowed us to take walks and not have to bundle up. She hates putting her winter jacket on. It's hard to believe she's already 7 1/2 months old. It's been several weeks now that she's been sleeping all night, never fail, 11-12 hours. We're enjoying every moment and she just cracks us up daily.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk5Q0fa5fdifeFiNlaVIO4rCLLHLVhjrfIRLH6hmyzNKnntRBDsLocghWr3szAKoYFCxhEUlIMTFwKJeg0rcVh6yH8XxyibPwo_k9GV6z_b50ffLw1cAu3LMESwWMwT7-05FraD-Hl/s1600-h/IMG_1840.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313807527011345250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk5Q0fa5fdifeFiNlaVIO4rCLLHLVhjrfIRLH6hmyzNKnntRBDsLocghWr3szAKoYFCxhEUlIMTFwKJeg0rcVh6yH8XxyibPwo_k9GV6z_b50ffLw1cAu3LMESwWMwT7-05FraD-Hl/s320/IMG_1840.JPG" border="0" /></a> Sure, I'll try broccoli... She had a fun time watching all the kids running around her at both.</div><div>Sydney's 6 month check-up was Thursday. The doctor's words were "she's perfect," which, as biased parents, we already knew :) She's been surprisingly healthy with all well visits to the doctor's so far. Sydney is 27" long and weighs 19 lbs. 6 oz. She's in the 90th percentile for her length and head measurements and 95 percentile for her weight. In other words, a very well rounded girl, according to her measurements, and her belly too :) She also had 3 more immunization shots and didn't cry again. She's tougher than her mother, that's for sure. Her bottom tooth poked through and a second bottom tooth isn't far behind. The pediatrician said her top gums are all swollen too, so her top teeth are coming in as well. She's sitting on her own, blowing raspberries, and learning to feed herself. She's pretty independent. Often times I have a hard time feeding her with a spoon, but if she can help, or if I hand her a cracker that she can feed herself she'll eat. </div><div>Sydney's been going to bed around 7:00-7:30 and waking up around 7:00am. Typically she'll wake up once for a bottle during that time and go back to sleep afterwards. The doctor recommended putting her to bed a bit later and letting her go if she wakes up for a bottle at night. Last night we tried it, putting her to bed around 9:15 and she woke up at 1:00am. I went in to let her know I was there and then left. I felt like I made it worse, because she cried harder when I didn't pick her up, but about 15 min. later she fell back asleep and didn't wake up again until 7:15am. This little trick might just work! We'll see how it goes the next few nights. She's still napping pretty good too. One nap in the morning and two in the afternoon about 1-2 hours each time.</div></div></div></div></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-44731236404492188342009-01-29T05:09:00.000-08:002009-02-12T12:23:26.516-08:00Catching up...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKKbWua7uYm2T9YZxdb-IrYWaLIgSHhLD9fiG-26AYOJ9GEmPQcTCUYZB92NoZt9wXsKh49ZPnLLL7TeE6tS1ET2QG1VtGM6ga6AlO3IB_PMSfcg_7GovmK_3DYLcZy79-banFurAb/s1600-h/IMG_1371.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296703677616006434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKKbWua7uYm2T9YZxdb-IrYWaLIgSHhLD9fiG-26AYOJ9GEmPQcTCUYZB92NoZt9wXsKh49ZPnLLL7TeE6tS1ET2QG1VtGM6ga6AlO3IB_PMSfcg_7GovmK_3DYLcZy79-banFurAb/s320/IMG_1371.JPG" border="0" /></a> Not crazy about hats...<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZy9B4YarYyG5VpXFDbvWl3YOZbsSrPmzn9DUF0oKQB-vijiiYhAwHK1vr3HMCsVH8Bj6r0mKehD7gqCNA-nk0K0Hwi-XxviJVzE0txDRkHFJVLmu3UChiIYozWMNA3I63QqlMACFx/s1600-h/IMG_1369.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296703667752953266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZy9B4YarYyG5VpXFDbvWl3YOZbsSrPmzn9DUF0oKQB-vijiiYhAwHK1vr3HMCsVH8Bj6r0mKehD7gqCNA-nk0K0Hwi-XxviJVzE0txDRkHFJVLmu3UChiIYozWMNA3I63QqlMACFx/s320/IMG_1369.JPG" border="0" /></a> She totally looks like a 3 year old in this picture!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2BkkNmTo_1oaPYCkFAxhwo1O9HY92YqpyBoLMExaQ75wB-xef-yotfRG5eTLuoMZRE4fKKwA0WGrkWc3txdKP3NrIC8b8HbjwE4ER3Pww7gblurZmRlEnu9eKgMYxoRDR6zBQxxNB/s1600-h/IMG_1342.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296703664128344274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2BkkNmTo_1oaPYCkFAxhwo1O9HY92YqpyBoLMExaQ75wB-xef-yotfRG5eTLuoMZRE4fKKwA0WGrkWc3txdKP3NrIC8b8HbjwE4ER3Pww7gblurZmRlEnu9eKgMYxoRDR6zBQxxNB/s320/IMG_1342.JPG" border="0" /></a> Suited up for the big snow!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrovYjVZIOeP5J7lyeGZ-lw4QK0osm4I85B7WagmaEDlXrnzCfpEUOox-9YPxWbNxeh-Iz-2WirgMOkGWOsI_jVjfmUohIWYKzOWoVIDL-b72NkY6jgV6vgW4JDOdK1VP7IitdhXfG/s1600-h/IMG_1333.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296703662501122562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrovYjVZIOeP5J7lyeGZ-lw4QK0osm4I85B7WagmaEDlXrnzCfpEUOox-9YPxWbNxeh-Iz-2WirgMOkGWOsI_jVjfmUohIWYKzOWoVIDL-b72NkY6jgV6vgW4JDOdK1VP7IitdhXfG/s320/IMG_1333.JPG" border="0" /></a> Game day with dad.... the Giants lost :( Another one and done outfit...<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWe8HFTJtv9CIf81QRZdyFvuAFc6Bh_Ay_HmERI96wxhAoCctImz56zZpjN4sX7cOWiSvDfTd0VHnQc_W4598bMJFlhLdOVkQgB6SKtEP9tVS7JURbfqARTWgzQyQbEWz0ZlxgRfNn/s1600-h/IMG_1321.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296703653061934962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWe8HFTJtv9CIf81QRZdyFvuAFc6Bh_Ay_HmERI96wxhAoCctImz56zZpjN4sX7cOWiSvDfTd0VHnQc_W4598bMJFlhLdOVkQgB6SKtEP9tVS7JURbfqARTWgzQyQbEWz0ZlxgRfNn/s320/IMG_1321.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Sorry! It has been a while since we have updated, so we have a lot to cover. Last Friday, January 23 I felt a tooth coming in on the bottom in Sydney's mouth. I think it's been bothering her because she just hasn't been herself lately. To top things off for her, she got sick last Sunday. It is really her first illness besides a few stuffy noses here and there. She has had a stomach bug most of the week. Poor thing. Geoff, her Uncle James and I all caught whatever she had and were very sick earlier this week. Luckily the worst of it lasted only 24 hours. The flu shot didn't work for this strand and it was BAD.</div><div>Sydney is getting the hang of her walker and jumperoo (that is a free-standing jumper). In the walker she was only scooting backwards for a while, but now she's figured out that if she stands and leans forward she came move in that direction too. In the jumperoo a few days ago she would push off with one foot then the other so it looked like she was dancing. Now she's figured out how to coordinate her feet and jump. She's learning so fast.</div><div>She is no longer in the same spot I leave her in when I set her down. She immediately rolls over and is scooting backwards. I found her under the coffee table the other day. We'll have more updates soon - we have her 6 mo. appointment later today...</div></div></div></div></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038638331110391687.post-22439670240770131712009-01-08T07:41:00.000-08:002009-01-08T08:00:15.318-08:00Christmas & Key West<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY0szk-ahdbHY-rDJChYwCJSXEJLRo9xLWvNhn2VmJPPx-ucEkvq3QMTaECAOgyECMeG0Y473KX-LNN2yEvtVZMn0VGeYSbpjjJdP2vVn7yKYQ7w8F8cK0hR-cRx9lVvT4hoE8uwU9/s1600-h/IMG_1282.JPG"></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheKfnwtq_kvmgi9vkp4rzXt_rSSOflhagSXIIPxTPX8SWZNx4XLNZAq6tYirDsmFR4accR0CUcVY4yzYfgWJNzDNEyyyIE015KcxT1y_-rviB1E1k-Twj5oPqPe2vTTjOnw8iS3Xmd/s1600-h/IMG_1291.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288952740954598018" style="DISPLAY: block; We left the day after Christmas and were there for about 9 days. I was nervous that her ears would pop on the flight and she would scream, but she was totally fine. On the last leg of the flight home she actually slept through the take-off and landing.<br />I'm having a hard time believing how big she's getting. We had gotten all 3-6 month clothes for Key West, but she was in 6-9 month clothes weeks before we left. She had to squeeze into the clothes we had gotten for her! She is now rolling from front to back and back to front. She is also sitting on her own pretty well. I am right there to catch her if she tips while sitting, but she does a good job balancing herself. Teeth must be on their way because she's been chewing on everything near for weeks. When she's on her belly she can hold herself up, straightening her arms and reaches for toys in front of her. We're making some good progress and I'll have to baby-proof this house soon! Here are some photos from Key West - Enjoy!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Sydney Drew Kenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436189113103818757noreply@blogger.com1
